The Jewels Retail 1.03/1.04 package contains an updated release of
the Jewels puzzle game. It contains a 30-day evaluation
version of
the software and a program which allows you to register the software
after purchasing a valid license code. *NOTE* - Registered
users who plan on upgrading from version 1.0x to 1.03 should write
down or print out their serial.txt product registration code before
installing the update. The installation package contains a
demo-version license that could overwrite your product registration
file, in which case you will need to re-run the Register.exe
application and re-enter your registration code. Note also
that version 1.04 no longer overwrites the file (see below).
UPDATE 11/07/03 - The update to version 1.04 is only
available for the PocketPC platform. The Win32 version remains
at version 1.03. The 1.04 version update fixes the following
on the PocketPC platform:
o Performance - The update contains automatic frame-skipping
technology that will allow slower PocketPC devices to gain framerate
during play if the game drops below a specific threshold. This
will allow users with these devices to play the game at a tolerable
pace.
o Installation - The update no longer overwrites the serial
number file during installation/upgrade. Older versions
overwrote the file without asking, thus requiring you to re-enter
the registration code to obtain unlimited play. The new
installation package does not perform this overwrite.
