How To
Register Jewels Properly |
 |
 |
Please select the following link that you wish to read more
information about:
1) How do I register Jewels?
You register Jewels by purchasing a license and entering your
product registration code into the program to activate the full
version of the software. You do not need to uninstall the demo
or install any new software to get the full version-- once you
properly register the game, the demo version will be automatically
converted into the fully licensed, non-limited version.
There is a registration application included in the installation
of the program. If you have selected the default directory
during installation, the game and its files are found in the \Program
Files\Games\Jewels directory. The registration program is
included in the directory and is called REGISTER.EXE
There is no shortcut icon in the Start Menu associated with the
register application like there is for the game.
2) I've registered, so why does it still say it's
a demo version or it has expired?
You must type in your names and product code EXACTLY as it
appears in the email receipt. The biggest problem that we've
seen is that users have the "auto complete" feature turned
on for the on-screen virtual keyboard on the PocketPC. There
is an option (a default) that tells the keyboard to add a space
after the completed word. This space will mess up the
registration process.
If you are sure that you have not misspelled (or transposed some
letters) in any of the text field entry boxes, please check for an
offending space before or after your text.
3) I've purchased the game, where do I
download the full version?
You already have it! The demo version is also the full
product version. The key to unlocking the full version is to
properly enter your product registration code after purchasing the
game. You do not need to re-install the application in order
to unlock the demo version. Once the product is registered, it
will not expire.
4) I installed an update to Jewels, but it now
says it's a demo version. What gives?
Unfortunately, you will need to re-register the program using the
product registration code that was given to you at the time of
purchase. A "demo" license is included
in the distribution package, and is installed during the
installation procedure. If it overwrites your existing license
file, you will need to re-register.
5) How do I view my license information?
Run the REGISTER.EXE application or view the SERIAL.TXT file
using PocketWord. These files are located in the installation
directory of the application.
6) Why does the license look outdated or for an
older version?
For example, if you have installed version 1.01 of the
application, your license file may reflect that the product version
is 1.0
This is normal and has been designed to keep you from
having to generate a new code for every small patch update.
The 1.0 license is therefore good for all 1.0X updates. Note
that if there is a 2.0 version that has been installed, and your
license file indicates 1.0, it will definitely need to be
updated. Check the product pages to find out how to update
your license if this is the case.
